Scotland – West Highland Way 2011 – Video

After a wait of almost 3 years I have finally got around to editing the footage from our 2011 West Highland Way Adventure. My friend Ray and I tackled it in 5 days over a very wet period, We had a great time and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did walking it. The royalty free music in this movie is a track called “Prophecy” by Adrian Von Ziegler. Check out his YouTube channel at http://bit.ly/1jqn8CZ. The blog posts and pictures from our journey along the way can be found in the list below.

Day 1 – We set off from Fort William on the train and arrived at Milngavie at Lunch time. Our eventual stop for the night was the Garadbhan Forest just north of Drymen

Day 2 – After a fantastic Bivvy in the forest we had an epic day along the entire length of Loch Lomond. We stopped for lunch at Rowardennan and eventually camped at Inverarnan.

Day 3 – This was a rather short day, Inverarnan to Tyndrum. We had an afternoon off in the pub before we turned in for an early night at the By The Way Campsite.

Day 4 – Another fantastic day in breathtaking scenery. Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy an then over the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor to Kingshouse.

Day 5 – Our final day. Starting at Kingshouse and then over the Devil’s Staircase to Kinlochleven. We stopped for breakfast and then pushed out the final section to arrive in Fort William to complete the Way.

Each of the blog posts has its own Social Hiking map that we recorded at the time with ViewRanger on my iPhone. A large version of the full route map is below and it is a fantastic record of our journey, it includes images taken at the time and also posts from Twitter.

Also, As another added bit of fun. I made a movie preview that went live on YouTube back in 2001. I didn’t make a full movie at the time because of the wind noise, I decided to just go for it and edit it the best I could.
