Well, it’s taken me a few weeks to write this post. At the start of last month I made an interesting discovery while posting my votes in the 2014 TGO Magazine awards, I saw my name on the list in the Best Outdoor Blogger category. As you can imagine I was very pleased indeed to see my name in an amongst names in the outdoor world who I have a lot of respect for. I would like to say thank you to whoever it was that nominated me, I love getting feedback and a nomination like this makes all that effort/hours spent editing/writing worth while.
I would like to say one thing…… Before you vote, check out some of the competition first. To name but a few….
The Outdoor filmmaker Terry Abraham, with whom I have wild camped, appeared in a few of his product advert videos and have a great respect for.
Keith Foskett, I have read his books, love following along with his blog and he has helped me with many kit recommendations.
Alan Sloman, his blog is absolutely fantastic. It is excellently written and he has done great work highlighting the seemingly never ending attack on the Scottish wild areas due to wind farm building. Having walked Lands End to John O Groats via the Pennine Way he offered me some planning advice before we set off on our PW trip, I just wish I’d followed it properly
James Bulter aka BackPackingBongos, another excellently written blog that I love following. James, takes great images and really gives the feel of what it is like to get out there in the remote areas of the UK and beyond.
I’m going to stop there for now, If you would like to give your support then you can do so by voting for DeanRead.net at the following link – bit.ly/1pefRet – While you’re here… why not subscribe to my YouTube channel http://bit.ly/YouTubeDeanRead
