Hadrian’s Wall – Coast to Coast – May 2014

This is part one of my Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast trip that I walked in May 2014. This instalment sees us start from Bowness-on-Solway and walk to the Bleatarn Campsite east of Carlisle on Day 1, from there we then walked to Greenhead on day 2 and had our first glimpses of the wall.

The 2nd instalment of our Hadrian’s Wall Adventure is dedicated to our 3rd day. We set off from Greenhead and had an awesome day climbing up and down along the crags towards Steal Rig, Housesteads and then down to Chollerford. After dinner at the George Inn we set off at 21:00 to walk another 12 miles to our finishing point at Harlow Hill, we eventually arrived there at 01:15 after walking nearly 32miles.

The 3rd and final instalment of our Hadrian’s Wall walk is dedicated to days 4 and 5. We set off from Harlow Hill on day 4 and ended in Newcastle upon Tyne where we had some great night time views of the Tyne bridges. On day 5 our day started with a gruesome discovery as we headed to Segedunum at Wallsend. We eventually finished the adventure at the Spanish City in Whitley Bay and dipped our feet in the sea. Thanks for sharing in our adventure.

Blog posts with images and more words will be arriving soon (hopefully) and when they materialise i’ll add links here. In the meantime why not head on over and Subscribe to my channel – http://bit.ly/YouTubeDeanRead
